July’s writing prompt is Justice. In society, we try to make sense of the world. Why do bad things happen to good people? We’ve developed justice–whether divine, legal, karmic, cosmic or moral–to provide consequences for such actions. Justice is used as a means of correcting wrongs that otherwise would have been allowed to happen without consequences.
Here are some ideas for engaging this prompt:
- Think about the legal system in your country. Is it working? Think of ways it can be improved and write your thoughts on them.
- Write a story about justice, in any of its incarnations, and the effect it has on the parties involved.
- Write a poem in protest against an injustice.
