No Need For Snow

There is no room for snow
This year, much to the chagrin
Of school students and my
Unemployed neighbor. He usually
Shoveled snow and salted away ice
For a fair price; enough money
To keep his belly warm
With condensed chicken noodle soup.
But not this year.
The world continued not to need him.
